TGIF. Brady has been traveling this week so that can only mean one thing... Evie pooped in the bathtub. It should be expected at this point. She only poops in the bathtub when he's out of town. It's a nice, little treat for mama. 

My hip has been killing me lately. I tweaked it six weeks ago when I was running. I rested it for a couple weeks then started running again. That was a terrible idea. It's so much worse now. I'm scheduled to see my ortho in two weeks, but until then I'm swimming, stretching, and using my TENS unit every night. Fingers-crossed it's nothing serious.

I've been busy prepping for Black Friday lol. I really want to get Christmas shopping done early this year. I'll admit I also want a few things for myself😊 I'm definitely going to get a GloPRO. My sister and a co-worker rave about the GloPRO. I also really want the M.Gemi drivers or Birdies loafers.

It's been a rough week...

Evie has hand, foot, and mouth😩 Her fever last weekend was just the start. Then she developed a rash on her chin. Her cheeks and tongue were extremely swollen. Next, the rash spread to her hands and bottom. Lastly, it hit her feet. She wasn't able to wear shoes for two days because the blisters were so painful. It was heartbreaking to watch her suffer all week. 

The only time she was happy was in the bathtub so I extended bathtime the past two nights. That was a bad idea... Evie pooped in the tub the first night and peed on the bathroom floor after I took her out the second night.

Needless to say, wine and online shopping were necessary. Banana Republic is having a great sale. I bought a few basics - cardigans, tanks, tees, and a pair of chinos. I also got a new pair of Allbirds.

We don't have any plans for the holiday weekend, but the weather looks promising! Brady wants to hike, but I strained my neck earlier this week😩 I don't know what caused it, but I woke up on Sunday and could barely move. It was so painful. It hurt just to breathe. I got injections in my neck/back on Monday and I've been using a muscle relaxer all week. I'm feeling better, just old😒

We had the best weather this week! We have to take advantage because the weather is going to be crappy over the weekend... typical😒

I went running the past three days, which felt really good. My pace has improved, but I need to increase my mileage. I used to consistently run 20 miles every week. I'm hoping to advance beyond the 2.5 mile loop I've been doing. 

We went for a family run last night. Brady pushed the stroller and still beat me. We stopped by the park on our way home.

Evie and I had a playdate with Molly and Blair on Wednesday. The girls loved playing in the water table outside. They were soaked by the end of the day. They are so cute at this age. They are full of smiles and kisses💛

I think the sunshine influenced my hair appointment. It's a bit blonde😁 Brady think's too light, but I'm going to see how a feel after the weekend. Maybe I'll go back for some lowlights.

Brady comes home today🙌 He's been traveling a lot and the life of a single mom is hard. It will be nice to have another set of hands around here. It wasn't an easy week...

Evie's daycare was closed on Monday. Fortunately, Molly is a lifesaver and watched two one-year-olds! Bless her.

We're going home for Christmas!! I'm so excited! We haven't been home in two years😳 I don't know how that happened, but we need to do better. It will be great to spend Evie's first Christmas with our families. We'll be home the entire week so hopefully we'll get to catch up with everyone and still have time to relax. The holidays are going to be so much more fun with this babe!

Hello, November. Here's what we've been up to...

Evie's schedule is so messed up😩 She was doing great last week. She was back to sleeping 12 hours straight! Then she slept in a Pack-N-Play while we were in Leavenworth. She never sleeps well in these (we struggled in Hawaii too). She was up at least twice each night. She is starting to get back on track. She slept well on Wednesday and Thursday night. I hope this continues... fingers crossed!

The only thing keeping me sane this week was online shopping😊 I bought a pair of Rothy's. You know I can't resist a pair of flats. They are so comfortable. So far, I think they're more comfortable than Tieks and Tory Burch Minnie Flats. I got another pair of Frame jeans. Again, they are extremely comfortable. I buy them anytime I find a sale. I also ordered this sweater and these pajama pants from H&M. Can you tell comfort is my top priority?

The Sephora Sale is coming up (November 10-15)! I'll spend the weekend filling up my cart while listening to Christmas music🎅 Brady follows the "No Christmas until after Thanksgiving" rule so I won't be able to decorate the condo, but I'm going to watch The Family Stone while he's at the gym.

Here's what the week has looked like...

I placed three Amazon orders this week😳 I think that's a record for me. It started with restocking our chia seeds and honey. Then, I spent Monday with Evie and watched her crawl all over the condo. I frantically ordered baby-proofing supplies. Then, I realized Evie needed a few more things. I ordered this mesh feeder, which is a total mess (photo above)! I also thought it might be time to introduce a sippy cup so I read some reviews and ordered these. I also realized we weren't brushing her teeth so I got this toothbrush/teether.

I've been in a book slump since finishing Commonwealth. I'm currently re-reading The Paris Wife. I read this book years ago (when I lived in Iowa). I loved it so much I kept it on my nightstand to read again. It's a great book, but I want something new. I've been searching Target and the Powell's Books website for recommendations. I'm intrigued by this book, especially since the protagonist is named Evie!

We've been consumed by wanderlust lately. Hawaii was too long ago and the weather has been awful this week - storms every day since Tuesday😒 We need to plan a Thanksgiving trip. Last year we went to Victoria, B.C. (post linked here). I would love to go back (and eat at Jam Cafe everyday)! We ordered Evie's passport two weeks ago so hopefully it arrives in time and Canada is still an option. 

I just watched the Demi Lovato documentary - highly recommend!

TGIF! Brady has been in Chicago all week. He comes home today🙌 Evie and I have missed him like crazy!

Here's how I've spent the past week...

Walking and running nearly every day. Partly because of the weather and partly because of Evie. The temps have dropped into the 60's, the air is crisp, but it's still sunny and beautiful... my kind of running weather. Plus, stroller-time always calms Evie and she's been super fussy this week. She's had a cold, she still needs two of her top teeth to break through, and she got a flu shot on Wednesday😒 Whenever she boycotts a nap (constantly) I put her in the stroller and we hit the pavement. She usually falls asleep halfway through. 

Watching Netflix every night. This is my reward after some long days. I've been chilling out and watching a lot of movies and a few TV shows. Bachelorette is back on Netflix and I've watched it twice this week. Molly got me addicted to this movie. It's hilarious. Rumor Has It is also back on Netflix. I love Jennifer Aniston and this is one of my faves. I watched Dead Poet's Society for the first time and really liked it. I'm also re-watching Parks and Rec👌 (Other favorites: Mona Lisa's Smile, The Queen, Adore, Bridget Jones, Friends)

Online shopping for Evie and myself. I love clothes shopping in autumn. Everything is so cozy. I've found some great things at GAP and H&M for both of us. These bootcut jeans and this turtleneck are my new favorites. Also, this ribbed sweater. I think Evie is going to love her new pants, tops, hat, and mittens. I still need to get her a Halloween costume. I haven't decided, but thinking this little unicorn is adorable.
