What's In My Bag

Here's to not carrying any extra crap for Evie🙌

Champion Foundation tote has been praised endlessly since I got it last summer. It's so good! I included it my "Best of 2019" post. It's currently on sale for $21.99!

Truffle Clarity Mini clutch holds all my essentials... airpods, pen, nail file, lip balm, eye drops, keys. I love this pouch. It's the perfect size and easy to see everything. I have the larger size for travel. I really rate this brand.

Comme des Garcons classic wallet is a new addition. I had the YSL Fragments cardholder for years and I loved it, but I left it in the bottom of the stroller after a walk and kombucha was mistakenly left in there too... it exploded and my cardholder smells like fermented juice no matter how many different ways I try to clean it. Anyway, I do like this cardholder. It's very streamline, but also has place for everything. Comme des Garcons is my favorite brand for small leather goods.

Aquaphor is an absolute essential at all times. I probably use Aquaphor on my lips at least 10 times a day. I also recently developed eczema on my eyelids so I use it there too. We put it on Evie's bum every night before bed. Aquaphor for life!

Soap & Glory Hand Food is a family favorite. My mom, sisters and I all love this stuff. It smells incredible and is really hydrating. I look forward to applying this lotion throughout the day. However, don't let it go unused for too long or the smell goes off.

Ibuprofen is my lifeline right now. This is always with me.

Good Stuff

GloPRO was a Black Friday purchase after my sister and co-worker raved about it. I can't tell if it's had an impact on my skin, but I like to think it has. I really like the ritual of microneedling every night. Evie says "owie" every time I use it😂 The other skincare standout has been Drunk Elephant Babyfacial. I can see a difference in my skin immediately! It's so much softer and smoother. I look forward to using this mask every week.
Cuyana Tall Structured Tote is a classic. The quality is incredible. I've used it every single day for the past two months. It's my diaper bag and work bag. I stuff this full of folders, diapers, snacks, water bottles, coffee. It's definitely a Mary Poppins bag and doesn't have any signs of wear. I'm so tempted to get this shorter version.
Core 10 Crop Leggings are so good, but difficult to photograph. They fit and feel just like Lululemon Wunder Under. I used to be exclusive with the Lululemon Align leggings, but they aren't very durable. I've had three pairs and all of them ended up shredded with lose threads. To be fair, most of that was related to Evie standing on my lap with sneakers on. I love these Amazon leggings so much and they're only $45. However, when I bought them a couple months ago they were $30... I'm going to see if the price goes back down and order a second pair!
Back Pedal Brew by Middle Fork Roasters is the best coffee I've had in awhile. I'm terrible at describing flavors of coffee and I hate when baristas ask me what blends/origins I prefer. I don't know! I just know what I like and don't like. Their website describes this as a medium roast combining Brazilian and Sumatran beans with rich chocolate undertones.

Coveting

1 | MCM Small Trifold Wallet has been on my radar for a couple months. It's a great size. Very compact, but lots of card slots and pockets to hold all my junk. Plus, the orange interior is so fun!
2 | French Press needs to happen. I use our Keurig everyday, but I prefer french press. I blame The Twisted Fork- it was the first place I had it and now I'm hooked. I also want to start making cold brew coffee!
3 | Aviators are a wardrobe staple and somehow I don't own a pair. I'm already getting into Spring/Summer mindset- I'm ready to buy swimsuits, sandals, and sunglasses :) I know, jumping the gun a bit.
4 | Adidas Ultra Boost were just ordered while writing this post. I love this style! Reminds me of a pair I had in 5th grade :) They're a bit pricey, but so sleek and look super comfortable. I'm excited.

All About That Mini Bag

Obsessing over mini bags, per usual.

My pinterest board is blowing up with crossbody bags. They're so easy and comfortable and always look good. Here are ones I'm drooling over...
Givenchy Antigona Mini
3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Mini
Rebecca Minkoff MAB Mini
Celine Nano Luggage Mini
Saint Laurent Classic Nano
Here is the apple of my eye. Definitely #1 on the wish list...

Coveting

1 | Fall tends to be the season when I spurge on a handbag and this year I've been searching for burgundy. Philip Lim's new bucket bag is a great size, sleek finish, and the color is spot-on.
2 | I have one Hayden cashmere sweater and it's my favorite. It soft and cozy, it keeps its shape, and best of all- machine washable (although the label says dry clean only). I need a few more.
3 | This Banana Republic vest is perfect. I'm a big fan of vests, but the long length and hood sold me. The reviews say it runs large and just my luck, only size small is left. It's a sign.
4 | A trip home :) I'm hoping to go back to Iowa in October! I need to see Mira and there's no better time to be in Iowa than autumn. A Cyclone football game and bonfire sound pretty nice.
Apparently, Mira already said Ty Ty. I need to get home and keep working on Boo Boo!

I'm clearly ready for fall :)

Essentials

This all started with my need to have eye drops at all times... seriously, every year I go to the optometrist and tell them I have chronic dry eye and every time they tell me I'm crazy... smh.

I started keeping my eye care products (eye drops, contact case, contact solution, glasses) in a cosmetic bag. I gradually started adding things that I would find myself searching for throughout the day. Now, I have my complete survival kit.
This bag is the perfect size. Compact, but holds everything.
Hand sanitizer spray is sooo much better than gel. It doesn't leave a sticky residue.
Can't leave home without ibuprofen. I refill this little bottle every week.
Mini Altoids
Visine Drops
iPhone headphones
Ibuprofen

Summer Staples

I have a summer uniform that I rarely deviate from. Most days consist of shorts, a basic tee, sandals, and a small bag. It's comfortable, lightweight, and takes no thought to throw together. These are the pieces I like to invest in...

1 | Small crossbody bag
Rebecca Minkoff M.A.B Tote Mini is one of my favorites that I always come back to. It's such good value for money. 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli Mini was a splurge, but a great investment if bags are your thing. It looks just as good as the day I got it.

2 | Denim shorts
The 7 For All Mankind shorts have quickly become my go-to. They fit so well and they're the perfect length. I also really like the DL1961 Lola shorts. They're a bit long, but look great cuffed.

3 | Deep-V tee
My all-time favorite tee is by the brand FreeLoader. Unfortunately, this brand is extremely difficult to find. Occasionally I spot a few items on Nordstrom Rack.

On My Mind

1 | The 1975 are returning to the US! I've been stalking their webpage for months to see when they will be touring again. They're coming to Seattle in December :) I hope this means a new album will be out soon!
2 | 50 Shades of Grey is back! I picked up the latest book (from Christian's point of view) and I've been reading it nonstop. It's surprising still interesting even though you know how it ends. No shame- I love this series.
3 | The wallet search continues... and it's consuming my life. I don't remember the last time I contemplated a purchase for this long. I'm really torn between a wristlet and a french wallet. Decisions, decisions.
Longchamp, Mulberry, Shinola
4 | We will have company this weekend and I'm beyond excited! I haven't seen Amanda (or Sean) in ages. They'll only be here for a few days, but I'm been brainstorming fun activities for the 3 weeks :)
Our last photo together... get ready for photo overload on Monday

Splurge-Worthy

I have a theory, which I share with Brady every time we're shopping...
Here are a few of a my favorite high(er) end things that are worth spending the money on.

1 | Lo & Sons OMG Bag was purchased 2 years ago and I still use it every day. It's held up so well over the years. I get tons of compliments on this bag and I've had many co-workers buy it themselves.
2 | Vince Tees are usually around $100, which is a total splurge for a t-shirt. However, I usually wait for a sale and go all out when they're around $50-60. These tees are ultra soft, but still look polished.
3 | Comme des Garcons zip pouch is stylish. I just feel cooler when I have it with me. I have a smaller version that tends to be a wallet/coin purse, but I'm eager to try out a different style. The quality is top notch.
4 | 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli Mini is my favorite handbag. I just got it last fall, but I was lusting after this bag for years (not kidding). I have the navy version, but I really like the brighter colors for Spring. The size and quality are perfection.
5 | DVF Wrap Dress is a classic. The material and cut are super flattering. This is a staple in my wardrobe. I don't wear mine too often, but I always feel great when I do. I have a bold print, but I really like the solid colors.

Coveting

1 | I need a new wallet. I have a few that I really like, but they're all too big. I want something slim and easily transferrable from one bag to another. I'm undecided on which style I like best...
Kate Spade, Tory Burch
2 | I really need to invest in another pair of Tieks. I've worn them every single day for the past 2 weeks. It's time to give them a break. I really like the matte leather (in burgundy and navy) and the vegan options.
3 | I've been browsing the JCrew sale (30% off full-price and 40% off sale items) and my cart is getting pretty full. I feel like I need to revamp my wardrobe for summer... and work.
4 | I'm currently reading Little Bee, but I'm already thinking about my next book. Molly has a list on her phone that I'm mentally referencing :) One in particular is standing out... Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Coveting

1 | Rebecca Minkoff Mini Bucket Bag is on sale at Saks. I'm so tempted! The size and color are perfect... just what I need for summer :) I'm so drawn to pink/red bags for summertime.
2 | Topshop Sleeveless Ponte Jacket is right up my alley. I've been having a real moment with vests. They complete any outfit and just make it more interesting.
3 | Mumford & Sons Wilder Mind album will be in my iTunes library May 4th. The two released singles have quickly become favorites. I've been buying music like crazy.
4 | MAC 188 Small Duo Fibre Face Brush has been sitting in my Nordstrom bag for weeks. I only have one duo fiber brush and it's pretty big. I think this one would be prefect with my favorite my BB gel.
5 | Lululemon All In Pants look so comfy. I need some more apartment pants :) that are cute enough to leave the house in. These may be the ones, but I will need to try them on.
