May Favorites

Beauty
1 | Bumble & Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish is actually empty in this photo. I've been using it every day for a little extra volume. It smells amazing and lasts forever- a little bit definitely goes a long way.

2 | Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil is the first cleaning oil that I actually like. It removes make-up so well and doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy afterwards. It has actually become my favorite part of the whole skincare routine.

3 | Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm is also empty. This is probably the first lip balm I've completely finished. I use it every morning and every night. It's really thick and hydrating. I need to repurchase asap.

4 | Hourglass Ambient Bronzer (Radiant Bronze Light) has reached holy grail status. It's pricey, but you get a lot of product and it's incredibly pigmented (that's how I justify the $$$). Perfect for a sun-kissed summer glow.

5 | e.l.f. Blush Palette is definitely worth the $6 price tag.  I don't use the two darker shades, but the two lightest shades are great! It's nice to switch things up after using NARS Dolce Vita for the past 6 months.

Fashion
1 | Kate Spade Willa Flats = the best purchase I've made in months. I've been wearing them nearly every day and get tons of compliments on them. Plus, they're comfortable (and TTS). I'm actually considering buying another pair.

2 | Ray-Ban Aluminum Clubmasters are an obvious favorite if you've seen any of my recent 'Weekend Update' posts. These are the sunglasses I had to repurchase after losing my first pair in the Puget Sound. I feel cooler when I wear them :)

3 | Shinola Wristlet (similar) has been convenient the past couple weekends we've been in Seattle. I love carrying wristlets and mini bags, but this one is my favorite because of the quality. The leather is soft and luxe and I really like the silver hardware.

4 | Michele CSX Watch has been making a reappearance the past few weeks. I wear watches in waves - months without wearing them, then suddenly I feel naked with it. This one has always been my favorite and I love that the band is interchangeable.

5 | Coach Trench (similar) is a classic. I wear trench coats year round in the PNW. However, I switch it up from black to khaki when the weather gets warm. I've had this coat for 5 years and it still looks great.

Miscellaneous
1 | Bath & Body Works Tahiti Candle smells so good. I just started burning it a few days ago. I keep telling myself to "burn conservatively" so I don't finish it off in a week, like I usually do. Give it a sniff next time you're at Bath & Body Works!

2 | L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes are surprisingly good. I worried it would be streaky, but it applies evenly and one towelette is good for the entire body. I still prefer the lotion, but these have been very handy.

3 | Belvia Bites are more of an obsession for me (and definitely Brady). We eat them everyday and actually started buying them in bulk from Amazon Prime Pantry. They're delicious and keep you feeling full. A staple in my work bag.

4 | Theo Chocolate is the perfect treat at the end of the day. I've tried nearly all the different flavors, but mint and coconut are my favorite. I hadn't realized they're based in Seattle until we stumbled across their factory in Fremont... makes me like them even more :)

5The Affair was also a legitimate obsession. I watched two seasons in 10 days. The storyline, the actors, the (beach) setting are all very appealing. I'm impatiently waiting for season 3 to premiere.

Weekend Update

This was a Seattle-heavy weekend.  Just a blur of eating and drinking.

I worked late on Friday so we stayed in Tacoma. We had drinks at Harmon Tap Room then wandered around town trying to decide where to go next... we ended up on the couch with Dominos and movies :)
Brady insists on drinking outside (even when it's cold and windy)
My fave
Saturday was rainy. We went to U Village for a little shopping then ended the night in Capitol Hill for dinner and drinks. We had oysters, prawns, and geoduck (for the first time) at Taylor Shellfish Farms. We were still a little hungry afterwards so we went to The Pine Box for drinks and pizza.
Walked away from U Village empty-handed so I spent Monday online shopping :)
Yes!
So many shellfish
A Brado fave
Sunday looked a lot like Saturday. We went back to Seattle in search of patio dining because the sun finally came out! We ended up at Little Water Cantina for dinner then Westward for drinks (and clams).
Pretty please with himself for finding this patio
Live entertainment
Best view of Seattle
More shellfish
The even had blankets at each chair. Heaven.
We'll be back
Monday was a lazy day, but it was sunny so we went for an extra long walk.

On My Mind

1 | There are so many good tunes for summer right now. I've had these three on repeat the past couple of weeks. I'm currently working on my summer playlist and nothing excites me more! You just can't beat a good playlist...
Roses by The Chainsmokers, Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande, Middle by DJ Snake
2 | Have you used Amazon Prime Pantry yet? I just got my first delivery yesterday. I stocked up on everything... cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, toothpaste, peanut butter, Smartfood popcorn (our favorite). One less errand to run each week. I'm a convert.
3 | I just finished season 2 of The Affair (after binge watching for 2 consecutive weeks) and I cannot wait for season 3. I have a newfound love for Joshua Jackson. I think I may rewatch Dawson's Creek just to get my fix until season 3 premieres :)
4 | Surgery is scheduled. I'm having a hip arthroscopy in three weeks. I have mixed feelings about this... I want to fix my hip asap and feel normal again, but I'm absolutely dreading surgery. This better be the last round of weekly doctor appointments, crutches, physical therapy.
Another day, another view from an ortho office

Weekend Update

It was a rainy weekend in Tacoma.

Friday night we had dinner on the patio at Boathouse 19, before the rain set in. We rented a movie after dinner, but I feel asleep within the first 30 minutes. It was a wild night.
Saturday was dreary. There was a light rain the entire day. We walked to the gym in the morning. I shot a basketball for the first time in years. I'm going to blame my poor showing on my hip... it was pretty embarrassing.
We were in the mood for pizza Saturday night. We walk to Elemental for dinner then Pacific Brewing for a little night cap. We spent the rest of the night brainstorming ideas for Memorial Day Weekend.
If you can believe it, Sunday was even more lazy than Saturday.

Everyday Makeup Routine

I am a self-proclaimed beauty junkie, but quick and easy makeup is essential in the morning. I allot 10 minutes for hair and makeup and  I think hair takes 90 seconds :) Here's my daily routine including all my favorite products...
Maybelline Insant Age Rewind Concealer is the best. One of the few makeup items I instantly repurchased when my original was running low. It's intended for dark circles, but I use it to cover redness and highlight too.

Hourglass Ambient Bronzer (Radiant Bronze Light) has incredible pigmentation. A light hand is necessary. This doubles as eyeshadow most days. It's a warm, terracotta shade with a little glow.

NARS Blush (Dolce Vita) has been worn daily for the past 6 months. This has really turned into a year-rounder for me. Again, it's extremely pigmented.
Urban Decay Primer Potion is the first step in my makeup regimen. A little bit goes a long way to keeping eyeshadow crease-free all day. It's one of the few products I wear every single day.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in the shades stash and mushroom are great, wearable daytime colors. I feel weird if I don't wear eyeliner and the Urban Decay 24/7 range has every color.

Lancome Definicils Mascara provides length and definition. Lacking with the volume, but overall a great mascara. Honestly, I'm trying to use it up so I can return to Tarte Gifted :)

Anastasia Beverly Hill Clear Brow Gel is lasting me a lifetime. I've had this for over a year. I actually repurchased it last fall expecting it to run dry, but it's still going strong. Best brow gel.

Weekend Update

It took a few days to recover from the wedding so we were excited for a chilled out weekend at home.

We went to Johnny's Dock for dinner on Friday night. They have one of the best locations in town, overlooking Foss Waterway. We went home early so I could continue binge-watching The Affair. I downloaded the series last weekend while we were traveling and I'm hooked.
Love this view
One of my faves
Brady ordered better than I did
Saturday was an errand day, but I did sneak in a few more episodes of The Affair :) Then we went out Saturday night with Brent and Molly. Brent didn't get off work until 9:30 pm so Molly, Brady and I went to 7 Seas Brewery and Beach Tavern for a few drinks. We met up with Brent at Parkway Tavern then went back to their house and watched The Bachelorette (again).
