My view for the next week...

I shall return with an update. Although, I'm sure it will go something like this... sunshine, dives, gin & tonics.

Beach Day

First day in the Bahamas :) 

It will, most certainly, be spent at the beach. I need a little R&R, a GT, a good book (and some color). 

Here are my beach essentials...

1 | Mouchette Beach Coverup is lightweight, comfortable and so cute. I love the nautical stripes and the high slits. 

2 | Jeepers Peepers Mirror Sunglasses are exactly what I had in mind for this trip. They are perfect and a total steal at $33. 

3 | Seea Leucadia Bikini is right up my alley. The stripes and color blocking are cute, but it's also reversible to solid purple.

4 | Independent Reign Tote arrived just in time for this trip. It's large enough to fit everything I need for the beach and lightweight!

5 | All The Light We Cannot See is only available as hardcover. I'll have to be careful with it at the beach, but I'm hoping to finish it on this trip.

6 | DV by Dolce Vita Briza Sandals are a must-have. I borrowed Brie's when I was back in Iowa and knew I had to have a pair for this vacation.

Weekend Update

I had Friday off. I ran errands, did some laundry, made a quick shopping trip. It was quite enjoyable to take my time getting things done. Brady and I wanted to see Pitch Perfect 2 (he loves the original just as much, if not more, than I do), but it was sold out... boo. We went to Harmon Tap for dinner and drinks instead.

We went to the Dungeness Spit on Saturday. It was a 2 hour drive each way, but totally worth it. Brady had already been there a few months ago, but this was my first time. We were on a bit of a time crunch so we couldn't get all the way out to the light house (nearly 6 miles), but it was a fun walk and the views were incredible!

We're (unintentionally) establishing a Sunday routine. Start the day with a little workout. Then, grab a Naked juice and walk along the Sound. Get things done around the house. Go for walk through my neighborhood. Grab dinner at Stadium Thriftway. Watch The Blacklist.

On My Mind

1 | The new Mumford & Sons album is on repeat. I love the first few weeks with new music- it's so exciting! My favorite songs so far are Just Smoke, Monster and Ditmas.

2 | I'm watching Brothers & Sisters again. I completed the entire series last Spring so now it makes me nostalgic for warm weather and our little townhouse in Iowa. 

3 | I've been incessantly online shopping. I'm too excited for the Bahamas. I just want to buy loads of bikinis, sandals, and dresses. At this rate I won't even be able to fit all of it in my suitcase.

4 | I finished Euphoria yesterday and I'm so sad it's over. All the Light We Cannot See is on many Powell's Staff Top 5 Lists (my new go-to for book lists) and will hopefully be my Bahamas book this year.

My taste is neutral... I love beige and white, but also mix in a lot of brown and blue to be a bit more practical and appease Brady. 

April Favorites

Beauty

1 | Bite Beauty BB for Lips (Natural) has replaced my Dior Addict Lip Glow and I actually prefer it! It's much more hydrating and I really like that it has no color. 

2 | Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel (Espresso) is the only brow product I've been using. Gone are the days of using a pencil and a setting gel... this is all you need.

3 | Elf Blush Palette is the best $6 you will spend. I've used it everyday for the past month. The color pigmentation and staying power is on point. 

4 | Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has come back into rotation for the warmer months. It's so lightweight and natural. Provides a little coverage, but feels like nothing. 

5 | OPI Cajun Shrimp is another favorite I've returned to. This color just puts me in a good mood. It's so bright and uplifting. Nothing beats bright red nails in the summertime. 

Fashion

1 | LAmade Tees are a new staple in my wardrobe. I've got the white and coral shades. Now I'm going back for grey and blue. They're long and super flattering. 

2 | Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 Running Shoes are really an obsession at this point. I think Brady's getting annoyed with how much I carry on about them. They're perfect!

3 | Polaroid Retro Sunglasses are the sunglasses my mom and I bought together when she visited in February. They're so comfortable, I've been wearing them everyday.  

4 | Marc by Marc Jacobs Cosmetic Bag has been holding my essentials in my tote for months, but lately I've been using it by itself when I just need to run out of the house quickly. 

5 | Havaianas Slim Flip Flops are coming out of closet for another summer. I've been wearing the same two pairs for nearly 5 years. The cost per wear has gotten to be pennies. 

Miscellaneous

1 | Euphoria by Lily King has me captivated. I'm only halfway through and I'm purposely trying to read it slowly because I don't want it to end. A great summer read!

2 | The Wolf by Mumford & Sons is my pumped up tune of the moment. I listen to it nonstop, but it's especially helpful when working out... provides a little extra energy to push through. 

3 | NuMe Curl Jam Set was purchased right after I cut my hair. It includes a straightener and a curling wand (with 3 barrel sizes) which are all fantastic! They heat up quickly and leave my hair soft.

4 | The Body Shop Harvest Raspberry Scent is on another level. I can't stop buying this scent. It's fresh and fruity and lingers just long enough to thoroughly enjoy it. 

5 | Scunci Braided Elastics are my new favorite hairbands. They have just the right amount of elasticity. The ribbon hair ties just weren't tight enough to keep my hair in place all day.

Weekend Update

We had another great weather weekend!

Friday night was low-key. We walked (of course). We went to Petersen Bros. 1111 for takeout. Brady had heard their sandwiches were amazing so we thought we would give it a whirl. The bar itself looked a little sketchy and we weren't wild about the sandwiches. I don't think we'll be back. We spent the night watching movies.

Saturday started off early with walk along the Sound. Then, we got another Stadium stair workout in... it's so painful, but really nice to be done in 20 minutes. We decided to spend the afternoon in Gig Harbor. We rented a kayak, ate lunch at Tides Tavern, wandered around town and enjoyed the sunshine.

We were going to do a semi juice cleanse, but we only made it until lunchtime

Sunday started with another workout (only 10 days until the Bahamas!) and walk along the Sound. Then we did a little spring cleaning. Brady had to get some work done in the afternoon so I just lounged around and enjoyed a quiet Sunday afternoon. We ended the weekend with Brent and Molly... drinks at Boathouse 19. 

The divers were back! We watched them a bit longer
