Italy Part 1: Cinque Terre

We went to Italy for 10 days with my parents, Brie, and Tyler. We start in Florence, then Meta (near Sorrento), then ended in Rome. It was an amazing trip! I have the fondest memories and so many photos. I think it will end up being a four-part blog post.

The first full day was Cinque Terre. It was actually my favorite day of the entire trip. We took an early morning train from Florence and started in Monterosso. We hiked to Vernazza in about two hours. It was hot and humid and felt like a never-ending staircase, but the views were out of this world!

We cooled down, got drinks, and ate lunch in Vernazza. It is the most charming little village. The bright-colored buildings, the laundry drying on the lines and the quaint restaurants and shops had me snapping photos every 2 minutes.

We hired a guy to take us to Corniglia via boat. That was easily the best 30€ spent on this trip. Then we quickly hiked to Manarola. We weren't able to finish in Riomaggiore because the trail was closed due to landslides. We caught the train in Manarola and started to learn how to navigate the train system. Our first train was delayed so we missed a connecting train and ended up traveling for nearly 3 hours to get back to Florence, but it was worth it.

Weekend Update

We're back from Italy!

We got home late Thursday night. The travel was hell, but it was so good to be reunited with our girl💛 She spent 10 days in Iowa with her nana. She had a blast! She came home with a much larger vocabulary and was full of hugs and kisses for mama and dada. She's anxious whenever Brady or I leave the room, but we're trying to get everything back to normal. This weekend was mostly R&R at home. I loved every minute.
Walk to the park on Friday
Back to the park on Saturday (in our matching fleeces)
Helping dada with pancakes on Sunday
She loves coconut water, but now insists on drinking from the carton. She's actually really good at it.
Back to the park on Sunday
 Collecting rocks
Beautiful weekend

Weekend Update

We leave for Italy soon so we spent LDW soaking up every moment with Evie. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm dreading the trip because I don't want to leave her😭 It will be my first time spending a night away from her. I'm not ready for this. I want more three-day weekends with my girl.
Friday afternoon park visit... the first of many this weekend
Won't let daddy lay on her blanky
 Loving slides lately
 Especially climbing up them
Pulls books off the shelf and lays pillows on the ground for a seat
 Another park visit
 She loves being chased!
 My baby
 ... and another park visit
