Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is hit-and-miss for Brady and I. Some years we exchange gifts, while other years are spent fairly low-key with dinner or a movie (seriously, who has time for both?). If we do celebrate with gifts they're always small.

Here are my top V-Day treats...
I've been interested making this purchase for months. I have really dry eyes and I've started using an eye ointment at night, but I think this would help make sure my eyes are completely closed. Practical + cute.
I've been lusting after this enormous makeup bag. It would seriously hold all my makeup and brushes. That's impressive. The pattern is spot on for Valentine's Day.
Really, anything from LUSH would a big hit. The bath bombs are a personal favorite, along with the shower gels. I actually take time to have a bath and relax when I have these products laying around.
I just got a pair for my birthday (thanks, Mom!) and I've worn them everyday since. They are so soft and comfortable. And they actually stay on, unlike backless slippers.
My holy grail A/W scent. It's a fragrance that suits everyone. However, the name is deceiving. It's not too florally. It actually has a nice spicy undertone. Plus, it lasts all day.

There's one guarantee on Valentine's Day...
Dad never lets us down

Lovely Looks

Sneakers and flats are my everyday footwear of choice. They're usually paired with jeans and a sweater. I need to start mixing it up, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the comfort of my favorites shoes.

Here are a few ways to diversify your sneaker style...

Day Off

While I am no fan of working weekends, I do enjoy having days off in the middle of the week. It's so nice to sleep in, have the house to myself, go shopping without crowds of people and long lines. I had Monday and Tuesday off, so I thought I would share what I've been up to...

Wake up to sunshine!
Head out for a run
A lovely run along the Puget Sound
Return to an exciting delivery
Refuel with some pressed juice
Shower and get in comfy clothes
Catch up on Revenge
Make myself presentable
A quick trip to mall
Return home to tidy up and get some laundry done

De-Stress

My routine was completely off after moving to Washington. I was stressed with the all changes- new environment, first job, no family or friends; not to mention that first month of living out of a hotel with a rental car. It's taken a few months to feel fully settled, but these little rituals have really helped!

1 | Music
This had to be #1. Music is everything to me. I always have a few playlists on phone for different occasions- mello (for bedtime), pump (for workouts), favorites (for everyday). Music is my happy place.
My happy tune
2 | Tea
A new discovery for me. I've started drinking peppermint tea every night before bed while I sit in my rocking chair and listen to music. This is my form of meditation. It's my ultimate relaxation technique.
Tazo refresh mint is my current favorite
3 | To Do Lists
My to-do list was daunting. I finally got things under control after a few days off last week. These lists are so helpful and there is no better feeling then checking things off!
Finally a to-do list with less than 5 items
4 | Shower
Honestly, The 1975 nailed it when they sang "get in the sower when it all goes wrong." There are no truer words. I'm a firm believer in washing off (literally) a bad day.
5 | Workout
When I say workout, I really mean a good run. My head is never clearer than when I'm running. Even if it's a bad run, it's better than nothing. A day (or mindset) can be completely turned around in just 2 miles.
A run along the Puget Sound will do wonders
6 | Netflix
I have a few go-to shows/movies that are great to get my mind off things. I love to zone out for awhile and escape to a good storyline. Gossip Girl, House of Cards, Adore, and Almost Famous are in the current rotation.
7 | Nails
My sisters think I'm crazy, but I thoroughly enjoy painting my nails. If there is the slightest chip I have to redo them. It's a mindless task that leaves a satisfying result. Win, win.
Rich raspberry by Revlon
8 | Call Mom
This one had to be last because there's nothing left to do after you call Mom!

Luxe List

I've been dying to do another 'Luxe List' post. These are definitely my favorite and always serve me well when trying to think of gift ideas around the holidays, birthdays, Valentine's day ;) My last post was ages ago so I thought I would mix it up to include beauty and fashion items together.
I've been looking for a new cosmetic case and I keep coming back to this one. It's the perfect size and I love the deep burgundy color.
I use a thick, moisturizing lip balm at bedtime. As soon as my Nivea lip butter runs out, I'm purchasing this lip mask!
My Paige denim obsession is growing with every day that I wear my only pair. I could use another pair so I can at least alternate them.
This blush gets me excited for spring! I always fall for the coral shades and this one certainly wouldn't disappoint.
Is it crazy that I want to wear these PJ's out in the real world? If something looks soft on the internet, you know it will be out of this world. Cute + comfy = winner.
Bloggers have had amazing reviews of this product. I never paid much attention (since I never took bathes), but now I'm intrigued.
I realize this is the most boring color palette out of the entire range, but they're colors that I wear everyday. I hear the pigmentation and formation of these palettes are amazing.
This cape is on mega sale. The color, shape, and hood (essential in the Pacific NW) had be sold, but at that price it's too good to pass up.
Lo Bosworth recently posted a video raving about this product. This makeup/skincare line seems to be a big hit lately, but I still haven't tried anything yet.
I'm a Tieks convert. They are the most comfortable flats ever. All my other flats have been completely neglected. I need another pair!

Worth A Look

1 | The new Maroon 5 music video is a little piece of internet heaven. I've been watching it every morning to start the day off right. This is favorite Maroon 5 song ever.
2 | Well done, Hourglass! This is the most beautiful eyeshadow palette. I love them all, but the rose/nude shades are irresistible. If you're looking for a beauty splurge, this should be it!
3 | Friends has finally hit Netflix! I will be super busy the next few weeks while I watch every episode (for the tenth time) in order. Brady doesn't understand the cult following, he didn't grow up watching it every Thursday night.
4 | Forget the iPhone case. The new way to protect your phone... corner guards that elevate the phone from any surface. While $43 seems a bit steep for four little clips, I am intrigued.

Slip-On Sneakers

If you're into this trend check out... Aerosoles?! Yep, that's right. I randomly found these sneakers a few months ago and I wear them constantly. You may have noticed their reoccurring appearance in my OOTD's. They are so comfortable and actually very flattering. Some brands have made their version too chunky. These are much more streamline.

I already own them in leopard, but I just purchase three more pairs in each color. I couldn't resist the sale!
