Good Stuff

Billie razor was purchased after seeing Brooke (from Somewhere, Lately) rave about hers. I've seen this razor all over my insta feed and blogs, but Brooke put it over the edge for me. I love it! It's such a close shave and (surprisingly) I cut myself a lot less. I highly recommend. Plus, the subscription forces you the change the blade more frequently, which I always forget to do. 

Basil and mint plants were purchased from Trader Joe's a month ago and I'm obsessed. One, they look really nice on the table. Two, they smell great. Three, I'm cooking more because I want to use the herbs I'm growing. Win on every level. The herb planter is from Amazon. 

Dark chocolate covered pretzels are another Trader Joe's purchase that is now a weekly staple. They're the perfect salty/sweet snack. I keep a bag at home and a bag at work. The work bag goes quickly because everyone else likes them too! I love dark chocolate, but they also have milk chocolate. 

French Exit and Fate and Furies are totally different books, but I binged both of them. French Exit is a quick read. It's short, easy to follow, and has some really funny lines. Fate and Furies is looong and took awhile to get into, but you get to know the characters so well. I'm still thinking about them! I read all my books on the Libby app so I can use my library card to check them out. I'm obsessed with this app!

Halogen bralettes are a recommendation from Fashion Jackson and she's right - they're great! Even more comfortable than my favorite Calvin Klein and Lululemon bralettes. These bras are thin, breathable, and stay put all day. I got the nude color initially, then just purchased the black too. 

Weekend Update

Thirty is killing me! I have hand, foot, and mouth😩

Evie had a temp of 102° last week. She recovered quickly after a couple doses of ibuprofen and we didn't figure out the cause of the fever until... I got the 102° fever on Friday. It took over 12 hours for my fever to break and I had a terribly sore throat. On Saturday, I was feeling a bit better so I got the bright idea to rent a vacuum steamer and deep clean the entire condo to get rid of all the germs. In addition to going to Home Depot for the steamer rental, I stopped by HomeGoods and Trader Joe's😬 What was I thinking?! I guess, at this point I was feeling better and really didn't think I was contagious. 

However, I still wasn't feeling well on Sunday. I had lesions erupt around my mouth and I finally looked at my throat with a mirror and found it covered in blisters. Now I know... it's HFM and Evie already had it last year so her infection never fully developed. My hands and feet are just starting to get sore😒 

I felt terrible for Evie when she had HFM. It took well over one week for her to get better. I'm hoping my recovery will be quicker, but I'm not optimistic b/c what 30-year-old gets HFM?!

Post fever and pre lesion... I thought I was on the mend 

Side note: I dyed my lashes and brows (at home) last weekend and I'm loving the results

Weekend Update(s)

Sorry for being MIA last week. I wasn't feeling well, but after a long weekend I'm feeling 👌 I had Friday and Monday off. A four-day weekend was just what I needed. We didn't do anything which made it that much better. 

We're still in the potty training process, but Evie is doing so well. One week down and there have only been a few accidents. One morning she actually woke up totally dry! I'm so proud of her. 

We've had our typical summer weekends... park, playgrounds, sidewalk chalk, bubbles. It's been too chilly for the pool, but I'm hoping we still get a few more visits before season end. Having a child makes you realize how special summertime is💛 I can't wait to get her involved in sports and camps. They were always my favorite (in addition to the pool)!

Native Jefferson Shoes - Evie's on her 6th pair👌
HM hoodies - we get a new one every 6 months, Evie loves hoods and pockets
Cat & Jack tees - the best cotton tees, we shop the boys and girls sections
Patagonia hat - this is the only way to keep her hair off her face (she hates ponies)
Moon and Back pajamas - thick, soft cotton that lasts forever
Thule stroller - we sold our UppaBaby stroller b/c we prefer this one so much more
Hiccapop travel bed - she sleeps great in this bed, we can use her regular sheets and it fits in the suitcase
LeapFrog phone - one of the few toys that she's played with for more than a month
Crayola Mess Free coloring - we're having a real Peppa moment and she loves to color with these markers
Playfoam - she's a crafty girl and this is great on flights

Window stickers - another flight essential - seriously, hours of entertainment!
Madeline book - Evie is constantly requesting this book, she obsessed with ambulances, hospitals, owies
Brown Bear book - she reads this book to us now!

Munchkin Trainer Cups - the only sippy cups we've ever use, started when she was 7 months old and still use today

Sound Machine - the only baby items we've used every single day for the past 2.5 years

Cozy Things

I went a little overboard with the Nordstrom sale. I bought a lot of hair products, skin care and loungewear. I ended up returning all the real clothes I bought😂 I'm so happy with my cozy purchases and I'm still loving my Vuori joggers. I feel very put together while watching Netflix now #thisis30

I've also been reading a lot lately. I just finished Fate and Furies by Lauren Groff. It was a slow start, but then I couldn't put it down. I finished a week ago and I'm still thinking about the characters. I just started French Exit by Patrick DeWitt and Carnegie's Maid by Marie Benedict. I'm also listening to The Turn of the Key audiobook. I've also been watching Something's Gotta Give every week😂

Weekend Update

I love the hot, sunny weather we've been had the past couple weeks! 

We've been taking Evie to the pool as much as possible. She's such a water bug. She can hold her breath underwater for ~10 seconds and she's always practicing in the bathtub. Brady bought her dive sticks a couple weeks ago and she's obsessed. A little girl played with her on Saturday... the girl threw the dive sticks in the water and Evie retrieved them😂 A fun game of fetch!

Brady left for work on Sunday so Evie and I had the day alone. We went to the gym and the park. She climbed up on a railing that was shoulder height on her. I was shocked when she jumped off and stuck the landing😳 This must be the stuff she does with dad when I'm not around lol

Weekly Wardrobe

Back with another all-neutral edition. I realize it's boring, but it makes getting dressed in the morning so easy. These Anniel flats are my new favorite. They go with everything and they're comfy. Thursday's Club Monaco shirt is another favorite. It's the softest material that does not wrinkle. Plus, it's on major sale. Also, my beloved BR Ryan pants are in a petite length. My sister bought them in the regular length and had to exchange for the petite. The cropped look is great for summer.
