Weekend Update

We had a great weekend at the cabin!
The weather was perfect - warm and sunny every day. We took the boat from Tacoma to Olympia on Friday afternoon. It was Evie's first boat ride! The views were incredible, the girls did so well, and we spotted a whale🙌 Brady drove down in the evening. We put the girls to bed and enjoyed some games and cocktails.

We took the boat out on Saturday. We cruised around, dipped in the water and the boys took the paddle boards out. Kari and Brett arrived when we got back to the cabin. We opted for more games... and cocktails😊

The girls could not move in their life jackets. It was hilarious

Good Stuff

The latest standouts...

Frame Le Color Crop jeans are my new favorite! They are the most comfortable jeans - the perfect amount of stretch and they don't lose their shape. I wear them multiple times each week and I'm always bummed when they're in the wash. Plus, 15% off your first purchase through the Frame website!
Aquaphor has been a life saver the past couple months. I must have had a reaction to a lip product in May. My lips were sore, dry, chapped for a month and I couldn't figure out why. I started using Aquaphor exclusively and my lips are back to normal. It doubles as Evie's barrier cream...
Eylure Brow Dye Kit is just as good as going to the salon. I used to have my brows (and eyelashes) tinted by an esthetician, but this kit is so easy to use and has the same outcome. Just a little mixing, then let sit on the brows for a few minutes and you're done. Much cheaper and convenient.
Finge Notebook has been my journal all year. I write my to-do lists, food journals, Evie updates, and diary entries in this notebook. I usually go through one notebook each year. It's fun to look back on entries from years past. I'll show this one to Evie someday.

Weekend Update

We had family photos taken on Saturday. I'm happy to finally have them done, but we procrastinated and didn't have outfits planned (except for Evie's). We went to the mall on Friday night. Of course, Brady found a shirt, but I went home empty-handed. I went to a different mall on Saturday morning and found an outfit, but then I was rushed to get ready. The day was total chaos, but I hope the photos turn out well!
Not digging the traffic
Pizza was necessary after a crazy day
Sunday was the usual -long walk, Netflix, gym, meal prep, chores, lots of Evie cuddles.
Sunday morning nap
Followed by a walk (and another nap)
Arms and abs because my hip is still really sore
You know it's Sunday when you're meal prepping
Sweet potatoes were a big hit!

Five Months

Ok, time can slow down...
Evie is getting so big and there seems to be new developments daily. I know I say this every month, but this has been my favorite stage.

The biggest milestone has been teeth! Evie cut her first tooth at 18-weeks and the second at 20-weeks. Now, she's got two bottom teeth, but no sign of uppers. This girl is teething like a champ. We didn't even know it was happening until our daycare provider told us she had a tooth! She's been chewing on everything. She's fond of Nuby Teethers and anything else she can fit in her mouth😊

Evie started solids this past month. Our pediatrician recommends starting solids at 4-months. She gets solids once daily, around 5 PM (before her bath). So far, she's had rice cereal, avocado, squash, peas, banana, prunes. Squash was an epic fail - she threw it up in the bath. Bananas are the favorite so far.

We've been working on rolling and sitting up. She has started rolling from back to belly, but often gets her arm caught underneath her. She's getting pretty good at sitting upright. She can sit unsupported briefly before she topples forward. I think this has really helped reduce the spit-up - we're only going through one burp cloth a day now🙌

Sleep has been much more predictable this past month. She always goes to sleep at 7 PM and wakes around 7 AM. She generally wakes up once between 1-2 AM for a feed and diaper change. She usually naps three times a day for 1-2 hours. However, she struggles to nap at daycare.

Evie visited some exciting places in the past month. She went to Montana last week, spent the 4th of July weekend at the cabin, and had her first trip to the pool. She loves to people-watch and play peek-a-boo. Thankfully, no stranger danger yet.
