Five Months

Ok, time can slow down...
Evie is getting so big and there seems to be new developments daily. I know I say this every month, but this has been my favorite stage.

The biggest milestone has been teeth! Evie cut her first tooth at 18-weeks and the second at 20-weeks. Now, she's got two bottom teeth, but no sign of uppers. This girl is teething like a champ. We didn't even know it was happening until our daycare provider told us she had a tooth! She's been chewing on everything. She's fond of Nuby Teethers and anything else she can fit in her mouth😊

Evie started solids this past month. Our pediatrician recommends starting solids at 4-months. She gets solids once daily, around 5 PM (before her bath). So far, she's had rice cereal, avocado, squash, peas, banana, prunes. Squash was an epic fail - she threw it up in the bath. Bananas are the favorite so far.

We've been working on rolling and sitting up. She has started rolling from back to belly, but often gets her arm caught underneath her. She's getting pretty good at sitting upright. She can sit unsupported briefly before she topples forward. I think this has really helped reduce the spit-up - we're only going through one burp cloth a day now🙌

Sleep has been much more predictable this past month. She always goes to sleep at 7 PM and wakes around 7 AM. She generally wakes up once between 1-2 AM for a feed and diaper change. She usually naps three times a day for 1-2 hours. However, she struggles to nap at daycare.

Evie visited some exciting places in the past month. She went to Montana last week, spent the 4th of July weekend at the cabin, and had her first trip to the pool. She loves to people-watch and play peek-a-boo. Thankfully, no stranger danger yet.
