On My Mind

1 | I've been slacking in the reading department lately. I bought two new books, but haven't started them. My Audible credits were stacking up so I used them all up and cancelled my subscription. I've been dedicating 30 minutes each evening to reading or listening to a book. Here's the line-up...

2 | So many new (to me) activewear brands. I love Lululemon and Sweaty Betty, but I'm eager to try Outdoor Voices, Koral, and Alo. I spend 90% of weekends in activewear/loungwear so I'm always searching for new additions. Carbon38 is a great site to find lots of different brands. My top picks...

3 | | We're going to Hawaii in October with Brent and Molly! I'm beyond excited. It will be our first big vacation since the Bahamas last May. Plus, I've never been to Hawaii... lots of exploring to do. Brent and Brady are in full research mode. Molly and I are eager to catch some sun :)

Weekend Update

Another quiet weekend at home...

Brady was in Alaska for work all week. He got home late Friday night so I went to Brent and Molly's for dinner/movie.

We had beautiful weather on Saturday and Sunday. We went for many walks. The best one was walking through the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday at dusk.

Food Journal

I've been more mindful of my diet the past 4 months and I've even started cooking. Crazy, I know. I figure, if I can't work out then I better clean up my eating habits. I'm trying to include more protein and vegetables because I used to live on nothing but carbs. I've found that it actually doesn't take that much time and I feel much better.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, coffee
Snack: Belvita bites, banana
Lunch: salad (arugula, spinach, cucumbers, strawberries, tomatoes, poppyseed dressing), yogurt, water (strawberries, mint)
Snack: sweet peppers, mini 7-Up
Dinner: quinoa (arugula, spinach, avocado, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, EVOO, peppers)
Dessert: dark chocolate
I tend to eat the same foods every day for a couple weeks then switch things up.

Weekend Update

This weekend involved sleeping in, watching movies, and going on walks. It was pretty perfect.

My surgery was cancelled (more on that later). I really needed the weekend to wrap my head around this change of events. It was nice to be home and chill out.
Zootopia
Yellow! This was a box of goodies from my family for the surgery. No surgery, but still really enjoyed it :)
Walk, walk, walk
Brady and I really need to start sharing ice cream cones. We always throw them away when they start melting.

Weekend Update

This was a weekend at home to get shiz done before I spend the next week on the couch.

Friday night consisted of take-out and movie rentals.
Indo spring rolls!
Saturday started with coffee and a walk but quickly turned into an errand day... dry cleaners, car wash, grocery store. The weather was so nice we opted for dinner on the patio at Anthony's.
Walk w/ a chai latte
Lovely view
Anthony's has great crab cakes
Sunday was our 4-year anniversary :) Brady got me roses per usual.  We spent a good portion of the afternoon deep cleaning the condo and I actually did a little meal-prepping. Feeling very adult right now.
4 red ones for each year of marriage :)
Even cleaned all the baseboards...

Downtime

I'm getting ready for surgery next week. I actually have time to prepare for my extensive lounging (unlike my stint in February). I'm stocking up on groceries, entertainment, and loungewear. Here are a few options for anytime you're laid-up or just want a lazy day weekend.

Weekend Update

This weekend was the epitome of summer.

We went to The Lumineer's concert at Marymoor Park on Friday night. The weather was perfect, the setting was beautiful, and the band put on an amazing show. It was everything I had imagined of a PNW outdoor concert.
First things first
Soaking up the sun
So so good
Lights everywhere
Festival vibes
Date night
Sooo many people
We spent Saturday and Sunday at Brent and Molly's family cabin. We took the boat from Tacoma to Olympia, which is always a fun way to travel. We were outside the entire weekend - boating, paddle boarding, swimming, playing games. It was a good time. Nothing beats cabin time...
Sailboats!!

Cheers to a great weekend
Group selfie (boys not participating)
Manual labor
Blackjack, poker, Uno, dominos
