Scottsdale, AZ

Our trip to Arizona was great despite being sick for the first half. We flew into Phoenix on Friday night and drove straight to Flagstaff. We arrived at 3am and went straight to bed. We woke up early on Saturday for a quick breakfast at The Toasted Owl, which was great. Then, we drove up to the Grand Canyon. The words vast and beautiful are the only descriptive words that come to mind. A popular tourist attraction for good reason. I've never seen anything like it. I really loved this day!
These views seemed to go on forever
 Stolen sunglasses
Evie didn't want to take a picture, she just wanted to look at the baby nearby
 Great family trip
The rocks were so blunted
There was a lot of jumping off these small rocks

Day two was spent in Sedona. The weather was amazing. We comfortably walked around in t-shirts, which felt great in November (and coming from Flagstaff). We wandered through the downtown area - eating, shopping, snapping photos. We drove to a few lookouts to play in the rocks (Evie's favorite pastime).

 My girl!
 Infinite rocks. Heaven for Evie.
We stayed in Scottsdale the next five days. It was much more chill. We walked around downtown Scottsdale and Tempe, went to the Phoenix Zoo, hiked in Papago Park. We also spent a good amount of time at the resort pool, which Evie and I loved! It was nice to relax, but Brady and I got a bit bored. We've gotten used to busy vacations so it feels weird to slow down.
 Cheers!

Weekend Update

I'm back! Excuse my absence. I was sick two weeks ago and we were in Arizona last week. I don't know what happened to my immune system, but this bug left me bedridden for days. Serves me right because I had just bragged to my mom that I never get sick😒

I'll post an Arizona recap tomorrow. We got home early Friday morning so we had a three-day weekend at home. We took it pretty easy... unpack, clean, play at the park, decorate for Christmas.

Brady took Evie for walk on Friday night. I put up the Christmas tree while they were gone. Evie's reaction was hilarious! She was so confused. All weekend she's been saying "Tree! In the house!"😂 The holiday season is going to be so much fun this year! We took her to see Santa in Scottsdale, but she was terrified. Now, every time we say Santa she signs and says "All done!" This is her way of saying NO.

Friday

I never want to forget the way she asks to color... "My cuwa?"
TGIF. Brady has been traveling this week so that can only mean one thing... Evie pooped in the bathtub. It should be expected at this point. She only poops in the bathtub when he's out of town. It's a nice, little treat for mama.

My hip has been killing me lately. I tweaked it six weeks ago when I was running. I rested it for a couple weeks then started running again. That was a terrible idea. It's so much worse now. I'm scheduled to see my ortho in two weeks, but until then I'm swimming, stretching, and using my TENS unit every night. Fingers-crossed it's nothing serious.

I've been busy prepping for Black Friday lol. I really want to get Christmas shopping done early this year. I'll admit I also want a few things for myself😊 I'm definitely going to get a GloPRO. My sister and a co-worker rave about the GloPRO. I also really want the M.Gemi drivers or Birdies loafers.
