Life Lately

In the words of Heather McMahan, 2020 is a dumpster fire. Side note: you really need to follow her on Insta. She's a comedian and her stories are pure joy. I literally laugh out loud while watching her insta stories and listening to her podcast, Absolutely Not

Between COVID-19 and the BLM movement, it hasn't felt right to post on this blog. We've had several protests in Tacoma and most have been peaceful. My parents called me last week concerned about what they were seeing on the news about Seattle, but that feels so far away from what we're experiencing in Tacoma. I've been reading Why We're Polarized, which is a very interesting read about the polarization of politics in the US. I'm on a waiting list for White Fragility and Between the World and Me. I've had several conversation about race with Evie and it's been eye-opening. We need to keep this an open dialogue. I ordered a few books for her too... It's OK to be Different, Last Stop on Market Street, Skin Like Mine. I'm also starting her collection of the Little People, Big Dreams series.
