Weekend Update

We braved the weather on Friday for a night out with Brent and Molly. Brent's parents watched the girls while we went to the Cockrell Cider Farm. They have a food truck that services the best fish tacos and six ciders on tap... heaven.

The weather finally cleared up. We took advantage of the sunshine and enjoyed walks with Evie on Saturday and Sunday.

I love this weather!

One Month

Evie is one-month-old!
She has grown so much these past four weeks. She holds her head, has a strong grip, and is starting to track images. She loves bath time, but hates tummy time. She sleeps three hours at a time (maximum). She loves her carriers - Moby Wrap and BabyBjorn, but for some reason she is not a fan of her car seat. She spits up quite a bit... I'm constantly doing laundry. My mom said my sisters and I all spit up until we were 9-months-old😳 I'm hoping it doesn't last that long for Evie.

She makes the cutest noises that sound like a kitten. She doesn't cry often, but her whimpers and little pout melt my heart. She has the chubbiest cheeks that I can't stop kissing and she smells amazing... nothing better than new baby scent. She seems to have developed a sixth sense to detect when I'm in the room. She will be sound asleep, but the moment I step out of the room she'll start whimpering... makes it difficult to get things done, but I love it.

Love this little babe so much💗

February Favorites

Beauty
1 | MAC Eyeliner (Rich Experience) is the only makeup I've been wearing. I don't fill in my brows or apply mascara since getting my lash/brow tint six weeks ago, but I do like a little eyeliner when I'm leaving the house. This subtle brown shade is perfect for everyday.

2 | Essie Sugar Daddy Nail Polish was my wedding polish so I had to repurchase when I noticed it at Target. I've been wearing this color for the past month. It's a good neutral shade for Spring and prevents me for picking at my nails or biting them (horrible habit).

3 | The Body Shop Raspberry Body Butter is back! I was obsessed with this scent a couple years ago. It was discontinued last year and I'm so happy it's back. I stocked up when I was shopping their site and then I found it at TJMaxx (for $6!) - my supply should last a good six months now.

4 | Tony Moly Sheet Masks are the first sheet masks I've tried and I'm impressed. They look ridiculous while you're wearing them, but my skin has never felt more soft or hydrated after taking these masks off. This combo pack from Amazon is a steal!

5 | Verb Leave-In Mist has been a lifesaver lately. My hair seems to be getting more coarse and knotted since giving birth. This detangles and smooths my hair when used with a Wet Brush. My hair is much more manageable and less painful to brush now.

Fashion
1 | Gilligan & O'Malley Robe is featured in nearly every photo of Evie and I. I can't stop wearing this robe. It's soft and comfortable and easy access for nursing. I really love this color for Spring and the price is unbeatable.

2 | Gilligan & O'Malley Bralette is not marketed as a nursing bra, but it's perfect! The fabric is so soft and breathable and the v-neck is perfect for breastfeeding. Shopping for nursing bras has been a nightmare - they're all unflattering and expensive! I'm so happy with this purchase. Now I need more colors!

3 | Ugg Scuffette II Slippers were on my Christmas list, but I never got them. Nordstrom was always sold out of the chestnut color. I was still searching for them in February so when Zappos had them in stock I had to act quickly. They've been a wardrobe staple during maternity leave.

4 | Nike Tech Fleece Hoodie is expensive for a hoodie, but so worth it! Brady couldn't believe I spent $100 on a sweatshirt, but he's come around since I've worn it nearly everyday since I got it. I really like the length - the back is longer and covers the bum.

5 | Lululemon Align Pants are the most comfortable yoga pants and I've been wearing them every time I leave the house since giving birth. Sadly, I still can't fit in my pre-pregnancy jeans so I've been in Lululemon for the past month.

Miscellaneous
1 | MaraNatha All Natural Almond Butter is the best almond butter I've tried. Way better than Justin's Almond Butter in my opinion. It doesn't separate and really doesn't need to be stirred. I also prefer the taste. Almond butter and honey on toast has been my go-to snack.

2 | Mrs. Meyer's Lavender Daily Bar Soap is creamy, hydrating, and lathers really well. Plus, it smells great! My mom bought this when she was here and now I'm hooked. I've also been impressed with all the cleaning products I've tried from this brand... add this to the list.

3 | WaterWipes are not just baby wipes. They are so universal. We use them all the time to clean her hands and face (she spits up a lot) and I use them after pumping. Plus, they are all natural - 99.9% water. No issue with diaper rash yet.

4 | Love by Lana Del Rey has been on repeat the past couple weeks. I have a nursing playlist for Evie and I, but lately we've just been listening to this on a loop during our feedings. I'm not usually a fan of Lana Del Rey so this favorite really surprised me.

5 | DockATot Deluxe Dock is a favorite for Evie and I. She sleeps in it (in her crib) every night, but we also use it throughout the day for naps and playtime. It's nice to move it around the house and will be really convenient for travel.

Weekend Update

I went to the hair salon on Friday. It felt so good to get out of the house and finally get my hair colored. It was too blonde and had been driving me crazy for the past two months. Much darker and cooler toned now.
The sun finally came out and we went for a walk when I got home. It was still a bit chilly, but so nice to see blue skies.
We cooked dinner on Friday night - we made this spicy chipotle shrimp salad and it was delicious. This was uncharted territory. We never cook, but it was actually fun! So much fun that we did the same thing on Saturday. We made this pear balsamic salad and roasted brussels sprouts.
Bread and wine while Brady cooks 👌
This was yum

Salad and brussels sprouts cancels out the wine, right?
This is what we call a "Molly pour"
This was the weekend of golf movies... obviously Brady's choice. He couldn't believe I had never seen Tin Cup or The Legend of Bagger Vance. Surprisingly enough, I liked both of them.

Life Update

Ok, more of an Evie update...

I can't believe it's only been two weeks. It feels like she's been with us forever. I honestly can't imagine our life without her. Brady loves to watch her rooting when she's hungry and he's completely taken with her newborn scent... he can smell her the moment he walks into the room. I've found there is nothing better than rocking my baby to sleep and listening to her kitten noises (what we call every cute noise she makes).

She's grown so much within the past week. She's holding her head up much longer and she's definitely filling out - her little belly and cheeks are so round and cute. She's already up to 8.5 lbs and filling out her newborn size clothes really well - we probably only have a week or two left in this size. She's currently in the 50th percentile for height and weight, but 97th percentile for head circumference.

She's sleeping better. We're awake every three hours for diaper changes and feedings, but she falls back asleep quickly. We had a few nights the first week that were really rough... cluster feeding until 5 am😳

We've only ventured out of the house a few times... a couple outings with Brent, Molly, and baby Blair plus pediatrician visits and walks. I'm so excited for Spring! I'm desperate to get out of the house and enjoy nice weather.

We have become obsessive, stalker parents. We take a million pictures every day. Ready for photo overload? Here's what the past two weeks have looked like...
