Sixteen Months

Evie at sixteen months can be summed up as a little firecracker with major FOMO.

She still has no stranger danger. I lost track of how many people held her when we were on vacation. She runs up to strangers with a big smile and open arms. She lures them in by waving and blowing kisses. It has become alarming. We have to keep a very close eye on her, especially in busy places like airports.

With that same thought, she has become so quick on her feet! A toddler that loves strangers and running is scary😳 She runs everywhere. I actually have to put forth effort to keep up with her. She still wants to be picked-up constantly, but when she's down, she's running.

She's a great sleeper for us, but refuses to nap at daycare. She usually clocks 12 hours at night (7-7) and takes two naps (1.5 hours) when she's home. At daycare, she seriously naps for 20 minutes😒 Her FOMO kicks into high gear and she wakes before everyone else and waits for them to wake up.

Her vocabulary has really taken off. Here are all of her words...
Mama
Dada
Nana
Bompa (grandpa)
Baba (for baby and bottle)
Ball
Dada (for doggy)
Ruff
Moo
Uh-oh
Thank you
Peek-a-boo
No, no, no (with a finger shake)
Hi
Buh-bye
Uppy is the latest word, but we can't figure out what it means (it's not up)

Evie's mouth is full of words and teeth! She just got two canines (top and bottom left) and one molar in the past couple weeks. She only needs two more canines and her second molars to complete her set of baby teeth.

This girl won't stop growing! She had a check-up on Monday and she's now 90th percentile for height (2' 8.4") and weight (26 lbs 3 oz)! She's always been 50th percentile so that was a shock.

Evie is obsessed with doggies, climbing (on everything), chocolate milk and her pink tricycle. We have to point out every dog we see on our walks. She has finally worked up the courage to start petting the dogs. She has also started crying next to her pink trike every night until we take her for a walk with it. It's pretty annoying and I blame Brady's brother because this was Christmas gift from them.

Weekend Update

We had a great summer weekend, but it went by too quickly! I was scrambling on Sunday night to workout, meal-prep and finish laundry... I never put these things off.

The weather was perfect and we took advantage of long walks and trips to the pool/beach!
Got to spend Friday afternoon with baby Blair!

 This chick loved it
Long line for the fish sale

Martha's Vineyard, MA

This is the final post on our Massachusetts trip!

We stayed five nights on Martha's Vineyard (the other two nights were in Boston). We stayed in Vineyard Haven, but spent most of our time in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. The island is beautiful! We were pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't completely developed. There are so many farms and wooded areas. It feels so nice and safe and quiet.
We found some pretty great brunch spots. This is our favorite meal of the day. We usually eat brunch and dinner when on vacation then just have couple small snacks during the day. We really liked The Art Cliff Diner. They had amazing pancakes. We loved The Right Fork Diner so much we went twice! They have good food and a patio overlooking an airfield. We watched biplanes take off and land. So cool! The last spot we really enjoyed was Among the Flowers Cafe, which has a great location near the water in Edgartown. We also went to Behind the Bookstore several times for happy hour🍻
 Waving to dogs...again
Sad we took her away from the doggy

 Loads of personality

Beer at noon. Outside. Nothing makes this guy happier.

Behind the Bookstore had a pebble courtyard. Evie played for a solid 30 minutes!

 Approaching the doggy
We spent a few days exploring Edgartown. It's super cute and reminded me of Nantucket. We loved walking through the neighborhoods and looking at all the beautiful houses. We also walked out to a few lighthouses and spent one morning on Katama Beach.
 White picket fences everywhere
 Every view is good
 Blooms
