Coveting

1 | The Bloomingdale's Friends & Family sale is on until Oct. 4th! Perfect time to stock up on fall necessities... I've been searching for denim and sweaters (and my favorite basics, of course). Here are the current contents of my bag...

2 | I'm going for a stronger brow in autumn. I've finished my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and I'm on the hunt for a new brow pencil. I'm leaning towards something with a slanted tip like the one from Burberry or Hourglass

3 | I've used up all my samples of Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily so I stopped by the counter over the weekend to finally make the purchase. However, this scent only comes in the 100 mL bottle and I couldn't bring myself to spend $170. It's now on my Christmas list!

4 | I'm getting very bored with our current home decor. I need to spruce things up around here. I've been searching for new throws, pillows and bedding. I'm struggling to find anything I like, but I'm leaning towards a (tiny) bit of color.

5 | The 1975 is releasing their new album in 9 days!! The anticipation is killing me. Brady and I have been slightly obsessed and we're actually quite worried it won't live up to our expectations. Their first album was just too good.

Weekend Update

We had a quiet weekend at home.

Brady and I are a on kick of trying new restaurants and we're basically trying to work our way through this list featured in Seattle Magazine. Marination Ma Kai started all of this last weekend... we're beyond obsessed and haven't stopped dreaming of kimchi fried rice.

Anyway, we went to 520 Bar & Grill in Bellevue for dinner Friday night (after a quick trip to the mall). The food was mediocre, but the atmosphere was great. We loved the location and overall feel.
Friday OOTN
Pottery Barn... can't resist
Love the new Jo Malone scent
Old fashioned
Caprese flatbread starter... definitely the best of the food
Saturday and Sunday were pretty standard... a little shopping, tidying the condo, running stadium stairs and playing tennis.
New jammies (and slippers) and B Sharp coffee
Already needing to repurchase
Running stairs during a high school football game... we got some strange looks
Hogwarts
A beautiful night
I need lessons
Grocery stop

Autumnal Outerwear

I was so close to finally get my dream Burberry trench (featured below!) a couple weeks ago. We were in the store. It was on sale. It was a size 6. I thought it was fate. However, it turned out I actually needed a size 8. I contemplated getting the size 6 (it's difficult for me to pass up a sale!), but the salesman said the ill-fitting shoulders would always bother me. I think he was right, but this all started an outwear obsession.

I've perused all my go-to sites in search of the perfect jacket/coat for fall. Here's what I've found...
Cape | DKNY | $158

I've already ordered the DKNY cape, but I think I'll try the All Saints coat too (can't beat 20% off). I'll continue lusting after my Burberry raincoat :(

On My Mind

1 | Scandal! I'm beyond excited for a new season. It feels like it's been ages since we've had new episodes. Netflix has been on nonstop for the past few weeks while I re-watched seasons 1-4. I'm praying for Jake's return to season 5...

2 | I'm in the midst of creating my A/W playlist :) I've found lots of good stuff in the alternative section of iTunes and the Ryan Adams version of 1989 is a real standout- the songs all feel new again!
My autumn playlist is coming together. I've had RIP 2 My Youth and 2 Heads on repeat
I actually like his version of Welcome to New York better (and Shake It Off)

3 | I'm a big fan of at-home gel polish, but the LED lamps are too much effort. I tried the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and liked it, but I recently picked up the Essie Gel Topcoat and love it. Best $10 you'll spend this month!

4 | YouTube Beauty Channels have become a hobby for me (sad, I know). My absolute favorite videos are "What's In My Bag" videos, especially when the featured handbags are this good! Givenchy, Mulberry, Prada... well done Tanya.

Weekend Update

Last week was a total fail. I keep telling myself this week will be better (fingers crossed), but this weekend certainly helped!

Friday night was relaxing. I chilled out, took a nap, tidied up the condo, and did some laundry. When Brady got home we ordered pizza and watched Netflix.
Saturday was a shopping day :) I haven't had a proper shopping day in ages. This used to be a weekly standard when I lived near my mom and sisters. Surprisingly, Brady agreed to spend the afternoon at U Village.
Beautiful day!
My happy place
Shopping for basics
We wanted to try a new spot for dinner so Brady googled "best patio dining" and Marination Ma Kai was at the top of the list. The views were incredible, but the kimchi fried rice was to die for. Definitely a new favorite spot in Seattle.
Dreaming of this kimchi fried rice
Divers!! Brady and I were jealous!
Sunday was a lazy day. I ran errands, switched out my summer home decor for fall decor, watched Harry Potter, and read my new book.
Bath & Body Works getting festive
New pumpkin, chai latte, good book
Burning this all day

Weekend Update

We did the Puyallup this weekend! Which is the Washingtonian way of saying we went to the State Fair.

We got off to an early start on Saturday morning... haircuts, grocery shopping, running errands. We found a new coffee shop, B Sharp, near our place. It's in the most colorful alley...
We spent Saturday afternoon at the fair with Brent, Molly, Nick, and Mal. It was surprisingly similar to the Iowa State Fair- fried food, extreme heat, people-watching... it was a good time.
The view from Brent's parents house!
Necessary stop at beer haven
Brady's favorite game
Nick, Brent, and Mal
IOWA
Queuing for scones
Pumpkin carving
Brady and Mal feeding the sheep with all the 7-year-olds
Slide racing
Bags of scones :)
Ending the night playing games at Brent and Molly's
We had a relaxing Sunday. We slept in and lounged around the house. We went for a long walk at Chambers Bay and started re-watching Scandal in preparation for the season premiere- Sept 24th!!
