Weekend Update

Brie is in town!

She has two weeks of classes at UW so we got to see her over the weekend😀 She has to attend these classes every August for three years. I love it! Unfortunately, next year will be the last year. I linked her 2017 visit here. It's crazy to see how much Evie has grown in 12 months.

This year was a little more chill because she's pregnant! My newest niece is due in January💛 We went shopping at U Village, ate lots of food, ran together on Saturday and strolled with Evie through the park.

The weekend flew by, but at least I get to see her again in two weeks in ITALY🙌

These two girls are the sweetest
There was hand-holding, hugs, kisses. Melts my heart.
Molly is due TODAY. How good does she look?!
 I love Elemental
Sister runs sessions don't happen often these days
Our cool down was a walk to the park with Evie
Books before naptime with Aunt Brie Brie. Evie got attached very quickly

Eighteen Months

There have been so many changes in the past two months, I don't know where to begin...
Her vocabulary has boomed. I can't even list all her words. Her pronunciation has also really improved. She says "love you," which is sounds like lellow, but it's the sweetest thing. I think my favorite thing this past month has been Evie learning her name. My heart bursts when she says "Ebie" and points to herself💛

Evie is obsessed with dogs, babies, and shoes. Brady and I always leave our running shoes at the front door. She either tries to put them on herself or bring them to us. She can pronounce "shoes" very well now that she says it about 30 times every day.

She also likes to identify anything that has the potential to be hot. If it's not cold, it's hot according to Ev. She holds her hand out and says "hot" to nearly everything. We're teaching her identify things that are actually hot - fireplace, oven, candles, etc.

She has a newfound love for Elmo or as Evie would say "Melmo." Her toothbrush has Elmo on it and Brady taught her the name. She started saying "Melmo" constantly so we've tried watching Sesame Street a few times. So far, she only lasts 2-5 minutes before she's bored.

She also recently got into wearing bandaids. She'll say "owie" repeatedly until we put a bandaid on her wrist. I only got this 18-month photo because I let her wear a bandaid and shoes😂

Evie is starting to learn colors. Currently, she thinks everything is "lellow" but we're working on it. She's also learning to count. She counts 1, 2, 3 then jumps.

She loves bathtime. She can easily spend an hour in the tub and she'll still cry when we take her out.

She has nearly all her teeth. I think we're only waiting for second molars. Canines came in much easier than I expected.

She's definitely getting more attached to Brady and I. She likes to be held and carried everywhere, but she still has no problem stalking strangers. It's really annoying at the park. She'll walk up to anyone and stand in their personal space just starring. Brady and I argue over who has to go get her and talk to said stranger lol

Weekend Update

Evie was feeling much better this weekend🙌 Hand, foot, and mouth is no joke. She still has blisters on her feet, but she's back to herself - happy and feisty. We had a pretty standard weekend...
 Standard Friday night
 Saturday morning at the park
This brings her so much joy
 Post-run kombucha
You find Evie in the closet going through her baskets at least once a day

Friday

It's been a rough week...
Evie has hand, foot, and mouth😩 Her fever last weekend was just the start. Then she developed a rash on her chin. Her cheeks and tongue were extremely swollen. Next, the rash spread to her hands and bottom. Lastly, it hit her feet. She wasn't able to wear shoes for two days because the blisters were so painful. It was heartbreaking to watch her suffer all week.

The only time she was happy was in the bathtub so I extended bathtime the past two nights. That was a bad idea... Evie pooped in the tub the first night and peed on the bathroom floor after I took her out the second night.

Needless to say, wine and online shopping were necessary. Banana Republic is having a great sale. I bought a few basics - cardigans, tanks, tees, and a pair of chinos. I also got a new pair of Allbirds.

Weekend Update

Rainy weather and a sick toddler this weekend...

It rained on Saturday for the first time in months. It was actually kinda nice. We went to the mall, but instantly regretted it. Traffic was awful and the mall with a toddler is not a good time. The only purchase of the day was an H&M tee for $3.30💸

Evie took a nap when we got home, but she woke up with a fever of 103°😩 It was a rough night. Her fever finally broke on Sunday morning and we were able to go for a walk, but that was the only outing for the day. The only good thing about a sick child is the cuddles💕
 First real pony
Get me out of this traffic
 Netflix and wine
 My poor baby
 Happy to snuggle
She only ate yogurt and protein shakes on Sunday

Weekend Update

Brady was in Colorado last week for work. He didn't get home until Saturday night. It was a long six days. Hence, no blog posts.

Evie usually sleeps great. Of course, she woke up in the middle of the night three times last week! It was brutal. We were both thrilled when he walked through the door on Saturday night.

We had a great weekend. There were lots of walks to the park. Brady and I enjoyed drinks and good conversation on our patio. I got everything on my to-do list completed. That felt great!

The best part of the weekend was Evie learning how to say her name. It's one of the cutest things I've ever seen. We ask "Where's Evie?" She points to her chest or head and says "Ebie."💛
 New fleece!
 Running view on Friday afternoon
Park time with my girl on Saturday
The splash pad is always a favorite
 Cuddling dada
We still give her a bottle before bed. We're ALL attached to this routine
Saturday night was beautiful. We sat outside until it got dark then rented a movie.
