Brady and I just got back from vacation with my family last Saturday. We had an amazing week in the Bahamas with my parents, my sister and her boyfriend. My parents have a timeshare in Nassau, Bahamas, but it was booked the week we wanted so we went to the Grand Bahamas instead.
My dad is a scuba diver and every year he tells us to get certified so we can dive together. This year, Brady and I finally followed through with it. We completed the classroom and pool portion in Iowa. When we arrived in the Bahamas we had to complete the open water portion (4 dives) to become certified open water divers. The dives were incredible! We saw a wreck, sharks, rays, loads of coral & fish. It was such an amazing experience and I'm already looking forward to the next time we can dive!
We spent some time exploring the island. Brady rented a car for the week so it was easier to get around, but pretty scary to drive on the left side of the road! We cruised around the straw markets and shops, hit up the local casino, and visited many restaurants and bars.
We also had plenty of beach time...
